Results Announced in 2008 Stevie Awards for Women in Business

Shining a spotlight on outstanding women executives, business owners and organizations, the winners of The 2008 Stevie Awards for Women in Business were announced on Friday, November 14 in categories including Best Entrepreneur, Best Executive, Most Innovative Company and Best Overall Company. More than 1,200 nominations were submitted for consideration in 50 categories.

With approximately 300 businesswomen in attendance, the winners of the 5th annual awards competition were announced at a gala awards dinner at The Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.  Cheryl Casone of Fox Business Network was mistress of ceremonies.

Notable winners from the 2008 awards include:

  • Best Executive: Ilene Gordon, president of Alcan Packaging, Inc. (Chicago, IL)
  • Best Executive: Jamie Entzminger, president of Mach 1 Global Services, Inc. (Tempe, AZ)
  • Best Entrepreneur: Jessica Rovello, president and co-founder, Arkadium (New York)
  • Best Entrepreneur: Heidi Flammang, CEO and founder of Camp Bow Wow (Boulder, CO)
  • Lifetime Achievement Award: Maxine Clark, founder, chairman and chief executive bear, Build-A-Bear Workshop, Inc. (Clayton, MO)
  • Mentor of the Year: Pam Wolf, founder of New York Kids Club (New York)
  • Most Innovative Company of the Year: ewoman, Inc. (Tokyo, Japan)

'Gorilla' Is Most Awarded Ad of '08

In an article in <a href="http://www.adweek.com/aw/content_display/creative/news/e3ie4d7c4b405f7c5fc2b14bf04458f5f5f">AdWeek Magazine</a>, 'Gorilla' Is Most Awarded Ad of '08 according to <a href="www.gunnreport.com">The Gunn Report</a>, a global ranking of winners compiled from the major annual industry awards shows.

The article said that a TV ad by Fallon, London, for Cadbury featuring a drumming gorilla was the most-awarded ad in the world in 2008t. BBDO, New York, was the most awarded agency, and BBDO was the most awarded agency network, followed by Leo Burnett and DDB Worldwide.

Finalists Announced: Stevie Awards for Women in Business

Stevielogo The finalists for the 5th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business were announced last week. This competition recognizes the outstanding work of women executives and business owners. There were more than 1,200 nominations submitted in 50 diffeent categories by companies from around the world. This competition is part of the American Business Award series. The winners will be honored at the November 14th dinner at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. Some of the leading finalists are Credit Solutions, MUG Solutions, Plantwise, Krugersdorp, Royal Neighbors of America, SMART Technologies, VerticalResponse, and Wipro Technologies. The Stevie Awards For Sales & Customer Service

SteviesalescsThe third annual Stevie Awards for Sales and Customer Service recognizes the accomplishments of sales and customer service professionals across the globe. This award program offers 50 various categories to enter including both individual catagories like Global Sales Leader of the Year, Sales Director of the Year, Sales Rep of the Year, and team categories ranging from National Sales Team of the Year to Manufacturer's Rep Team of the Year. The Stevies 7th Annual American Business Awards for 2009

Stevieaward The Stevies all started with the American Business Awards in 2002. Now in its 7th year, this competition honors companies large and small. The program is structured so entrants compete against others of like-size. Some of the categories include Communications PR Campaign of the Year, Marketing Campaign of the Year, Best New Product or Service of the Year, and many more, including the two new categories of Business Innovation of the Year and Fastest-Growing Company of the Year.

Marcom Awards extends deadline to October 10th

Marcom_logo The Marcom Awards is an international competition that gives marketers and communications professionals the chance to show off their best work. Entries come from marketing and communications departments, PR firms, Ad agencies, design shops, production firms, or freelancers. This competition is for anyone involved in the concept, writing and design of marketing and communication programs and print, visual and audio materials. The winners will be announced on their website on October 27th.

The Create Awards 2008 Announces Winners Showcase at Create Chaos 2008

Create The 2008 Create Award winners will be displayed at Create Chaos 2008 at the Orlando World Center Marriott on October 14-16. At this event, winning pieces will be displayed while judges and winners mix and mingle. The Best of Industry and Best of Show will be announced on October 14. The Create awards received over 1,500 pieces this year from around the world. The Create Awards are for creative professionals and students in the advertising, film & video, motion graphics, graphic communications, photography, printing, interactive media, and copywriting industries.

Web Marketing Association Names the Best Web Sites in 96 Industries – The 2008 WebAward Winners

Webaward_2008_logo The Web Marketing Association announced the 2008 winners of its twelfth annual WebAward Competition for Web site development. More than 2,400 sites from 45 countries were adjudicated in 96 different industry categories. Entries were judged on design, copy writing, content, innovation, technology, interactivity, and navigation. Trailer Park won the Best of Show for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix website. The site was also awarded Best Movie web site. Risdall Advertising was named the top agency taking home 29 awards this year. Biggs/Gilmore came in second with 20 awards.

The Stevie Awards For Women In Business
